Not to talk too much — I painted a classic Mordheim Dwarf Troll Slayer Hired Sword.

Differentiating the Sisters

Now that I have a miniature of each type for my Sisters of Sigmar, I'd like to write about the idea how to differentiate one unit type from another. The goal was to make it easy to tell who is who - even though each miniature is an individual. In general, the higher someone stands in the order’s hierarchy, the sturdier their boots, the better their armor, and the more gear they carry. So:

• A Novice goes around quite exposed, wearing sandals,
• Regular Sisters have low shoes, short trousers, and sleeveless tops,
• Sister Superiors and the Augur wear proper boots and leather armor,
• The Matriarch gets heavy boots, lots of layers of clothing, a backpack, and a big hammer decorated with icons of Sigmar.

I’ll keep developing this idea in future models. Below you can find the reference pictures.

Z okazji lutowego Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego, którego tematem jest „Idzie luty, podkuj buty”, postanowiłem napisać o garderobie i obuwiu Sióstr Sigmara i mojej koncepcji na odróżnienie od siebie modeli poszczególnych typów jednostek. Zamysł był taki, żeby łatwo było poznać, kto jest kim - mimo, że każda figurka jest indywidualnością. Założyłem sobie, że im ktoś istotniejszy w zakonnej hierarchii, tym solidniejsze ma buty, lepszy pancerz i więcej szpeju. I tak:

• Nowicjuszka paraduje cała poodkrywana w sandałkach;
• Regularne siostry mają niskie buciki, krótkie portki i żonobijki;
• Siostry przełożone i wieszczka - porządne kozaki i skórzany pancerz;
• Przeorysza - ciężkie buciory, dużo warstw, plecak i młocisko z ikonami Sigmara.

Realizacja zamysłu będzie kontynuowana w kolejnych model. Na zdjęciach - u góry i poniżej - przegląd obuwia u dotychczas ukończonych figurek.

Sisters of Sigmar - Novice

I kitbashed a Novice for my Sisters of Sigmar Mordheim warband :) The base model is WarCry Cypher Lords Mindbound. The head came form WH40K Adepta Sororitas Repentia Squad, the hand with the dagger is a part of a modified bit from WH40K Sister Novitiate Squad and the hand with the hammer came from one of the zombies from WHU Zondara's Gravebreakers.

Skitbashowałem nowicjuszkę do Sióstr Sigmara. Trzeba mi było na nią czterech pudełek z trzech systemów i kuleczki Milliputu ;) Większa część modelu pochodzi z warcry'owego zestawu Cypher Lords. Podmieniłem dłonie: lewą - na wziętą od zombiaka z Zondary do WHU, prawą - na uciętą z ręki czterdziestkowych Sisters Novitiate. Także główka pochodzi z pudełka frakcji Adepta Sororitas, ale tym razem Repentia Squad. Wyszło toto następująco.

Death Korps of Krieg - Combat Engineer

Since I’m still short on hobby time, I’m pulling out another miniature from last year’s Warhammer Miniature of the Month stash – Death Korps of Krieg combat Engineer from April.

Jako że niedoczasu ciąg dalszy, wywlekam kolejnego ludka z puli zeszłorocznych warhammerowych figurek miesiąca - kriegowego inżyniera z kwietnia.

Here’s the second Sigmarite Sister for my Sisters of Sigmar warband. The legs, torso, and arms come from the Repentia Squad, the head is from the Sisters Novitiate Squad box (both Warhammer 40,000 Adepta Sororitas kits). The hammer comes from the Age of Sigmar Pox-Wretches and a hand with the dagger from the ToW Wild Riders.

Druga szeregowa siostrzyczka do mojej bandy Sióstr Sigmara. Nogi, tors i ramiona wziąłem z zestawu Repentia Squad, a głowę z Sisters Novitiate Squad (oba pudełka z czterdziestkowych Adepta Sororitas). Młot podkradłem z AoS-owych Pox-Wretches, a dłoń ze sztyletem - z oldworldowych Wild Riderów.

Sisters of Sigmar - Sigmarite Sister

When writing about Augur, I mentioned that I’d soon have to get to work on the Sisters of Sigmar henchwomen. I struck while the iron was hot, figured out how the regular Sisters in my warband would differ from the Superiors, and boom - here’s the first one.

Pisałem przy okazji Augurki, że trzeba się będzie zaraz wziąć za popleczniczki. Poszedłem za ciosem, wymyśliłem, czym regularne Siostrzyczki będą się w mojej bandzie różnić się od Przełożonych i cyk - jest pierwsza. Nogi, tułów i ręce ma z pudełka Repentia Squad, a głowę z zestawu Sister Novitiates (oba z czterdziestkowych Adepta Sororitas). Młotek dostała z AoS-owych Deadwalker Zombies.
