The Cult of the Possessed - Possessed Kitbash

It's my second #oldschoolnouveau mini for Mordheim Cult of the Possessed. (Magister Kitbash was the first one.) It's inspired by the mini described on Stuff of Legends as "Possessed 2". I had an opportunity to paint the original model - check out the following post: Cult of the Possessed - The Possessed if you're interested. This one is a kitbash of three models from Gellerpox Infected box:

• Legs, the back and hands are from a Nightmare Hulk,
• I took the head and the necklace from a Gnasher Screamer,
• I sculpted the belly in Milliput, but put modified teeth of a Sludge-Grub inside.

Poszedłem za ciosem po Panu Magistrze. Jadę dalej z kitbashami inspirowanymi oryginalnymi modelami mordkowych possessedów. Tu punktem wyjścia był wzór opisywany jako Possessed 2: z pazurzastą łapą, macką, rozwichrzonym włosem i kąśliwym brzuszkiem. Do kwietniowego karnawału pasuje, bo:

• brzuszek ulepiłem z kitu zwanego milliputem,
• jest pokitbashowane - model składa się z 3 różnych figurek z pudełka Gellerpox Infected,
• rzecz obficie (acz punktowo) polewałem moim ulubionym ostatnio enamel washem (Dark Brown for Green Vehicles),
• a do tego odwołuje się do figurki sprzed 25 lat - czasów, gdy „bez kitu” i „polewka” mogły być nieco bardziej młodzieżowe niż dziś.

Underworlds Stormcast Eternals

Polewka bez kitu

Figurkowy Karnawał Blogowy (FKB) to trwająca od niemal dekady inicjatywa integrująca figurkowych blogerów. Co miesiąc jedna osoba wybiera pozostałym temat (zestawienie dotychczasowych motywów przewodnich i „motywatorów” dostępne jest tutaj). Zadaniem „pozostałych” jest przygotowanie posta stanowiącego interpretację bieżącego hasła. Z okazji obchodnego dziś podwójnego święta (śmigus-dyngus x prima aprilis) temat brzmi następująco: „Polewka bez kitu”.

Interpretacji może być wiele:

• Woda, ciecze, rozpuszczalniki i płynne produkty modelarskie;
• Zupy, polewki, czernina, Ksiądz Robak, gorzałka, niziołki i gastronomia;
• Żarty, trefnisie, rzeczy dowcipne, ale też zabawne tylko pozornie;
• Kit, inne plastyczne masy i figurki przygotowane z ich użyciem;
• Okna osadzone bez kitu i - szerzej - budynki i makiety;
• Modele tak świeże jak słownictwo z tematu - middlehammer i inne starocie ;)
• Kit-bashing - mieszanie części pochodzących z różnych zestawów (kitów) i modeli;
• Wszystko co pasuje wprost albo bardzo na siłę.

The Cult of the Possessed - Magister Kitbash

I recently learned a neat name for a trend I like wildly: #oldschoolnouveau. It's all about remaking classic models with modern parts. This specific type of kitbashing suits me well. I realized that when I remade the Mordheim Witch Hunters. (See Witch Hunter #1, Witch Hunter #2 & Witch Hunter #3).

When I saw an announcement about the grimdark spellcasters modeling competition, I knew what I'd do. I used some new parts to reimagine the classic Magister from The Cult of the Possessed. (The one described as "Possessed Magister 2" on Stuff of Legends). There he goes! You'll find the list of parts used below.

Poznałem ostatnio zgrabną nazwę nurtu, który szalenie mi się podoba: #oldschoolnouveau. W jego ramach odwzorowuje się klasyczne modele z użyciem dostępnych współcześnie części. Przy okazji oddających hołd mordheimowym wzorom Witch Hunterów przekonałem się, że ten specyficzny typ kitbashowania bardzo mi odpowiada. Kiedy więc zobaczyłem na mordheimowej grupie ogłoszenie o konkursie na grimdarkowych czarodziejów, postanowiłem poskładać „po nowemu” Magistra z The Cult of the Possessed. Dokonawszy wstępnego inwentarza części, których będę chciał użyć, doszedłem do wniosku, że upiekę na tym samym ogniu też karnawałowy wpis. Jak pan Magister ma się do bahiorowej „Masowej produkcji”? Następująco: z masy części masowej produkcji poskładałem unikalnego ludzika :)

Grinkrak's Looncourt

I've been short on time lately. What's more, I got involved in a rather time-consuming figure project. As a result, I wouldn't have anything ready today. Fortunately, I had an unpublished group photo of Grinkrak's Looncourt. Here you are.

Nie dość, że jestem ostatnio w niedoczasie, to jeszcze wkręciłem się w dość czasochłonny figurkowy projekt i nie miałbym w efekcie dzisiaj nic gotowego. Here's the next Garrek's Reavers' guy, this time one that can do something (meaning hit for two): Karsus the Chained.

I've painted most of Warhammer Underworlds warbands, but I neglected some along the way. Now I'm trying to make up for it. Here's Targor, the beginning of my version of one of the two oldest WHU Teams: Garrek's Reavers. My aim is to make them look more badass and less fancy. I'm removing some ornaments and swapping some heads. I hope you like it!

Zaproponowany przez Kapitana Haka temat Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego - „Broda” - postanowiłem wykorzystać jako pretekst do wzięcia się za projekt odwlekany od niepamiętnych czasów. Założeniem jest odpicowanie jednej z dwóch najstarszych band do WHU z nordyckim twistem. A wiadomo: jak wikingi, to i brody. Skandynawski kierunek interpretacji wyznaczyła świetna praca Borgnine'a: Sons of Skalv. W przeciwieństwie do zdolnego kolegi, zdecydowałem się jednak zachować część ikonografii Khorne'a. Oto pierwszy ludek: Targor.

As cold and serene as the seas she hails from, Tidecaster Cyreni is accustomed to the dangers of the ice floes and crushingly dark depths. The Idoneth's hopes for retrieving the frozen souls of Deathgorge lie solely on her and her attendants: deadly Namarti Thralls Alathyrr and Renglaith and Cephanyr - Cyreni's loyal Spirit Guardian trained to detect the lingering traces of trapped souls.

And there goes the second Idoneth of Cyreni's Razors Warhammer Underworlds warband. I substituted not yet painted Cyreni and squid with Elathain and crab and played them yesterday! :)

I cyk, drugi Idonecik z Cyreni's Razors (Brzytewek Cyrenki? :P). Pilotażowo już grany, na razie z proxami: Elathain zamiast Cyreni i krab zamiast kałamarnicy.

I didn't have much time this week, so I painted a first model for the next Warhammer Underworlds warband rather quickly with an Idoneth Deepkin color scheme I came up with when painting Elathain's Soulraid. Here's Alathyrr of Cyreni's Razors.

Ten tydzień w lekkim niedoczasie, więc na dość szybko pomalowałem pierwszego ludzika do kolejnej ekipy z Warhammer Underworlds - Cyreni's Razors. Nie wymyślałem koła na nowo i użyłem schematu kolorystycznego wypracowanego dla modeli Idoneth Deepkin przy okazji Elathain's Soulraid.

Witch Hunters - Witch Hunter #3

Here's the third of my Witch Hunters inspired by original Mordheim miniatures designs, made using contemporary bits. It's a tribute to the Witch Hunter 3, as named in the archival GW Catalog from Stuff of Legends. He's the first Witch Hunters kitbash I made using Wildercorps Hunters WarCry set, but probably not the last one. As for the bits used:

• the body and hands are from the Wildercorps Hunters box,
• the head is from Marauder Horsemen,
• and the sword from Bladegheist Revenants. 

I used some green stuff to extend the height of the legs and make the eye patch and the key. He's painted accordingly to the Grimdark Witch Hunters Painting Tutorial I posted some time ago. It's the last Witch Hunter swordsman I planned, so I should switch to hunters with X-bows, a Priest, Flagellants, or Zealots next. We will see.

Jedna z zaproponowanych przez Koyotha, gospodarza styczniowego Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego, interpretacja tematu to „figurka jak wiele innych, ale w jakimś drobnym szczególe różna”. W ten nurt wpisuje się w mojej ocenie poniższy Witch Hunter na pozór pasujący do kolegów zaprezentowanych na ostatnim ze zdjęć. Tak jak oni jest wzorowany na oryginalnych projektach łowców czarownic do Mordheim, lecz:

• bazuje nie na figurce witch huntera z Cities of Sigmar (u kolegów podstawą byli Jelsen Darrock i Haskel Hexbane), ale członka WarCry'owych Wildercorps Hunters;
• tak jak model, do którego się odwołuje (Witch Hunter 3 z rozpiski mordheimowych Witch Hunterów z archiwalnego katalogu dostępnego na Stuff of Legends), ma opaskę na oko, klucz i sztylet, ale po drugiej stronie osi ciała.

A tak w ogóle - mam już komplet Witch Hunterów z mieczyskami. Trzeba będzie albo zrobić wariant z kuszami, albo wziąć się za Priesta, Flagellantów albo Zealotów. Się zobaczy.

The Thricefold Discord

Never have three daemons hated each other so utterly as the Thricefold Discord. The three heralds of Slaanesh have a long and thoroughly entwined history of stepping on each other's toes, stealing each other's kills, and humiliating each other. When these three feuding commanders made one too many plans gone awry, they were punished by being forced to form allegiance and work together. To earn their redemption, they have to recover six hundred and sixty-six souls frozen within the depths of Deathgorge.
