Very nice indeed. May I ask how you created the mud effect on the bottom of the surcoat.

UsuńSure: it is a dry pigment (Ammo of MIG Winter Soil) fixed with alcohol (vodka to be precise) applied by brush with downward strokes - so the most of pigment ends on the bottom of the coat. The "dotty" part is a bit more runny mix of the pigment and the solvent "sprayed" with a finger from an old stiff brush (not sure how to describe it properly - you just load a brush with the mix and stroke it with a finger in the direction opposite to the model, so the brush springs back and spray the paint on the model). For the "spraying" part you can use a matt brown acrylic paint and water the same way. Vallejo Burnt Umber is perfect for that.

I think I stippled some aforementioned Burnt Umber here as well in between the bottom-muddy and upper-dotty part when the pigment had dried.

OdpowiedzUsuńBardzo miłe w malowaniu te ludziki, będzie Pan zadowolony. Miłe to, co piszesz, ale technicznie tu nic trudnego nie ma. Ciemny zenithal, dużo stipplingu na szmatkach, parę nmmopodobnych trików na pancerzu i suchego pigmentu na brudzing. Jak będę mógł pomóc i wytłumaczyć konkretny efekt, jestem do usług.
