Happy Holidays! A merry Squig

I associate the holidays with red, green and gold ornaments. Since squigs are traditionally red in color and bauble-like in shape, I took the season as an opportunity to paint one and hone my squig-painting skills. I think it's a bit more interesting than my past gnarly squigs – the holiday squig from 2 years ago and the two squigs I painted for my vintage Zarbag's Gitz – and it's still red enough to count as a classic squig. Zdarza mi się czasem o tej porze roku zmieścić coś okołoświątecznego. Nie inaczej jest tym razem. Za sprawą Maniexa i zaproponowanego przezeń tematu Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego - „Ale bombka” - postanowiłem pomalować squiga: bombkowego w kształcie i świątecznego w wydźwięku (bo uśmiechniętego od ucha do ucha i jak na mnie mało szarego, a do tego sfotografowanego na jednej z fotek w odpowiednim anturażu). Wesołych Świąt!

Borgit's Beastgrabbaz

Borgit Wolf-Killa, fancying himself a hunter, moves on Embergard to seek signs of the huge troll Trugg and to hunt anything fleeing the Skaven invasion. He's accompanied by Snagz and Dregg (used as bait), Uglug the troll and Rigg and Shamm, who are pretending to be Uglug's pet squig.

A new take on the Squig Herder concept - Squig Herders dressed as a Squig :D This is a mini of Rigg and Shamm from the Borgit's Beastgrabbaz Warhammer Underworlds warband. I'm continuing with the albino squig color scheme introduced in Grinkrak's Looncourt warband.

Daggok's Stab-ladz

Daggok Finksteala is on a murderous mission to decapitate the best fighters within Deathgorge. With each head he takes, his kunnin' increases - or so he believes - and he means to gather enough smarts to make him a Killaboss. Daggok's Stab-ladz share his vision, and assist him in his underhanded ambushes with their own savagery and kunnin'.

Daggok's Stab-ladz - Jagz da Bleeda

I started painting the next warband for Warhammer Underworlds: Daggok's Stab-ladz. The first model - Jagz da Bleeda - has too bright skin for my liking. I'm probably going to make it darker for the next guys.

Zacząłem malowanie kolejnej bandy do WHU - Daggok's Stab-ladz. Pierwszy, testowy model - Jagz da Bleeda - wyszedł chyba nieco za jaskrawie i następnych nieco przyciemnię. Ma za to mnóstwo sprzętu do dźgania, więc zalicza mi tegomiesięczny FKB: Przyrządy i sprzęty.

I've been short on time lately. What's more, I got involved in a rather time-consuming figure project. As a result, I wouldn't have anything ready today. Fortunately, I had an unpublished group photo of Grinkrak's Looncourt. Here you are.

Nie dość, że jestem ostatnio w niedoczasie, to jeszcze wkręciłem się w dość czasochłonny figurkowy projekt i nie miałbym w efekcie dzisiaj nic gotowego. Powstała więc okazja, żeby wrzucić zagubione i dotąd nieopublikowane zdjęcie grupowe ekipy goblińskich rycerzy. Proszę bardzo: Grinkrak's Looncourt.

Happy Holidays! A merry Squig

Happy Holidays, guys! Here's a gnarly squig conversion inspired by Grotmas Squig from this year's GW commemorative series. I sent it to the Dark Oak's Bahior as part of the Holiday Mini Exchange. Because the recipient plays a goblin pirate warband, I made the squig interchangeable magnetized headwear pieces - one for the holidays and one for his pirate life :) Have yourself a merry little squig-mas!

Wesołych Świąt, drodzy! Z okazji Świątecznej Wymiany Figurkowej skleciłem model inspirowany tegorocznym grotmas squigiem. Jako że obdarowywałem grającego załogą zielonoskórych kaprów Bahiora z bloga the Dark Oak, oprócz reniferkowych rogów ulepiłem ludkowi piracką czapę. Nakrycia głowy są magnesowane, można więc swobodnie wymieniać je w zależności od sezonu :P Bombkowych Świąt!
