Za nami 144. edycja Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego pt. „Klątwa Doliny Węży”. Inspirowany kultowym filmem i pozostawiający sporo miejsca na własną interpretację temat podjęli:

• Boston Steel Works z purpurowo-złotymi, smoczymi Easterlingami do MSBG,
• Pan Ryba z dzielnym niedźwiadkiem w miejskiej dżungli,
• Koyoth z zieloną anakondą i efektowną kobrą,
• no i ja z dwojgiem zaklinaczy z Cursed City (Octren, Cloena) i grupką węży (Sotek's Venomites).

Serdecznie dziękuję wszystkim uczestnikom sierpniowego Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego i  w imieniu Koyotha zapraszam do udziału w kolejnej, 145. już edycji!

Jaws of Itzl - Sotek's Venomites

After quite a long time I decided to remake and repaint Sotek's Venomites - a base full of snakes and lizards being a part of Jaws of Itzl Warhammer Underworlds warband, so that it better fits its the other miniatures.

Na koniec miesiąca z „Klątwą Doliny Węży” postanowiłem lekko przerobić i przemalować podstawkę wężyków i jaszczurek z underworldsowej bandy Jaws of Itzl.

Cursed City Cleona Zeitengale

After finishing Octren Glimscry, I painted Cleona Zeitengale, another and final character from Agents of Defiance team of the Warhammer Quest: Cursed City.

Kontynuując wątek zapoczątkowany Octrenem Glimscry'em, wrzucam w kontekście karnawałowej „Klątwy Doliny Węży” kolejnego ludka z Przeklętego Miasta. Oto Cleona Zeitengale, ostatni z grywalnych bohaterów Warhammer Quest: Cursed City.

Cursed City Octren Glimscry

In July, I painted some Rat Swarms, which reminded my of the unfinished Warhammer Quest: Cursed City box, which had been more or less on the verge of completion for quite some time. I decided to push it closer to the finish line this month. Of the remaining models, I decided to tackle Octren Glimscry first. I trimmed down his overly long beard, replaced the mask with an ugly face, elongated the hood, added a two-strand beard made from a Q-tip, and worked on the base a bit. This is how it turned out after painting.

Za sprawą zeszłomiesięcznego Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego przypomniałem sobie o niedokończonym (acz od dość dawna będącym na ukończeniu) pudełku Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. Postanowiłem wykorzystać motyw klątwy z tegomiesięcznego tematu FKB „Klątwa Doliny Węży”, żeby pchnąć ku końcowi prace nad „Przeklętym Miastem”. Z pozostałych modeli jako pierwszym postanowiłem zająć się Octrenem Glimscry'em. Uciąłem mu przydługą brodę, maskę zastąpiłem szpetną twarzą, przedłużyłem kaptur, dorobiłem dwupasmową brodę z Q-Tipa i zwaloryzowałem podstawkę. Po pomalowaniu rzecz przedstawia się następująco.

Khagra's Ravagers - Khagra

And here’s the last mini from Khagra’s Ravagers! It got a weapon and head swap, mostly because the original model ended up becoming a bits donor for a few other projects. I turned the original mace into a staff for the Cult of the Possessed Magister kitbash, while I kept the head aside for a future Sister of Sigmar. I took the new mace from ToW Empire Flagallents box. The head is from WH40K Chaos Space Marines Accursed Cultist set.

Ot, jest i ostatni ludzik z ekipy Khagra's Ravagers. Zaszły weapon i head swap, spowodowane faktem, że model stał się dawcą bitsów do innych projektów. Oryginalną buławę przerobiłem na staff possessedowego Magistra, a główkę zachowałem z myślą o jakiejś przyszłej Siostrze Sigmara. Obecna „macka” pochodzi z old worldowego pudełka Flagellantów, głowa z czterdziestkowych Accursed Cultist do chaotycznych space marines.

Klątwa Doliny Węży

Figurkowy Karnawał Blogowy (FKB) to comiesięczna inicjatywa motywacyjno-integracyjna polskiej społeczności figurkowo-blogowej, prowadzona nieprzerwanie od ponad dziesięciu lat. W każdej edycji inna osoba wyznacza temat (lista części dotychczasowych dostępna jest tutaj), a pozostali uczestnicy przygotowują i publikują wpisy będące własnym ujęciem zaproponowanego hasła. Tytuł 144. Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego brzmi „Klątwa Doliny Węży”. Kto filmu nie widział, niech obejrzy. Szczególnie warto z autorskim komentarzem Łony, ale wersja podstawowa też pewnie daje radę.

Interpretacji tematu (jak zawsze) może być wiele:

• okołofilmowe, np.: Azja, dżungla, odkrywcy, węże, mnisi, skarby, posągi, lasery i mutanty;
• okołoklątwowe: zaklęcia, czary, wiedźmy, czarnoksiężnicy, voodoo, Mordheim i Cursed City;
• okołodolinne: rzeki, kaniony, doliny, góry, lasy i tereny;
• okołowężowe: wyrmy, wyverny, smoki, szatany, grzechy, węże, gady i płazy;
• wszystko inne, co mniej więcej pasuje.

Zapraszam do własnej interpretacji tematu, przygotowania czegoś pod jego pretekstem i udziału w 144. Figurkowym Karnawale Blogowym :)

Cursed City Rat Swarms #4-6

Zaproponowana przez Pana Rybę na lipiec jako temat Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego „Fauna” zachęciła mnie do powrotu do pudełka Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. Przerobiłem nieco i pomalowałem drugi (i ostatni) trzypodstawkowy zestaw szczurzych chmar. Oto i one.

Brethren of the Bolt

The Brethren of the Bolt worship Sigmar in his aspect as a bringer of divine lightning. Though rival cults accuse the Brethren of insanity, there is undeniable truth in their proselytising - their methods can heal wounds, or at least render themselves so insensate as to be immune to pain.

Zamiast kolejnego ludzika z Khagra's Ravagers z okazji wakacyjnego niedoczasu wrzucam zaległą grupową fotkę Brethren of the Bolt. Fluff okroiłem, żeby jako tako pasował do figurek bez wyciętej przeze mnie instalacji ściągającej na nich gromy :D

Khagra's Ravagers - Razek

As part of catching up on my Underworlds backlog, I finally got around to painting the Khagra's Ravagers, the warband of warriors devoted to Chaos Undivided. I've always liked these minis, but they were never particularly playable, so painting them kept getting pushed back. Maybe that was for the best, though, because in the meantime I decided to swap out two heads and one weapon. This guy, Razek, for example, got a Marauder head transplant.

W ramach nadrabiania underworldsowych zaległości wziąłem się za ekipę wojowników niepodzielnego chaosu pt. Khagra's Ravagers. Ludziki zawsze mi się podobały, ale nigdy nie były szczególnie grywalne, więc malowanie nieco się obsunęło. Może i dobrze, bo w międzyczasie dorosłem do decyzji o podmiankach dwóch łebków i jednej broni :) Ten tu Razek dostał na ten przykład marauderową główkę.

Witch Hunters - Flagellant Hero Kitbash

After converting the Underworlds' Brethren of the Bolt Pater Filius, I was left with the lower half of the model. I swapped out his head and added arms holding a flail - all from the new Marauders. I filled in his back with Milliput and added some details: bandages (tissue hardened with super glue in some places, thin strips of metal from a metal tube in the others), sheets of paper and a scroll (paper hardened with super glue, rivets made of PVA glue), a book (pages made of tissues, cover and binding made of cardboard, a comet made of Milliput, rivets made of PVA glue, and string made of thread), a fish (Milliput from a Blue Stuff mold of a Gellerpox Infected bit used in my Fish Zealot). I attached some bones from plastic Flagellants, and there you have it. Here’s how it looks:

Po konwersji modelu Pater Filiusa do underworldsowych Brethren of the Bolt został mi dół ludzika. Podmieniłem mu głowę i dodałem ręce z flailem - wszystko z nowych Marauduerów.  Zamilliputowałem plecy i dodałem rzeczy: bandaże (miejscami chusteczka utwardzona super glue, miejscami cienka blaszka z metalowej tubki po czymś tam), karteczki i scroll (papier utwardzony super glue, nity z wikolu), książkę (kartki z chusteczek, okładka i obicia z tekturki, kometa z GS-u, nity z wikolu, sznurek z nitki), rybę (GS z blue stuffowej formy odbitej z Gellerpox Infected). Dowiesiłem kosteczki z plastikowych Flagellantów i jest. Rzecz przedstawia się następująco:

Brethren of the Bolt - Pater Filius

A while back, I converted 4/5 of the Underworlds Brethren of the Bolt squad into Mordheim Zealots and a Warrior Priest. The leader was left to deal with. The original model consisted of one figure sitting on the shoulders of another, which seemed a bit ridiculous to me. It sat in my “pile of shame” for a while, until I finally rolled up my sleeves, replaced the lower figure with stilts from WarCry the Unmade, added a bandage-wrapped body inside the robes, and - just like with the others - chipped away most of the obsolete shit. The result looks like this.

Jakiś czas temu przemieliłem 4/5 underworldsowej ekipy Brethren of the Bolt na mordheimowych Zealotów i Warrior Priesta. Do zagospodarowania został szef, którego model w oryginale polegał na tym, że jeden panopek siedzał na barkach drugiego (można rzucić okiem w Lexicanum). Wydawało mi się to nieco idiotyczne. Poleżał przez czas jakiś na kupce wstydu, aż wreszcie zakasałem rękawy, zastąpiłem spodniego ludka szczudłami z warcry'owych the Unmade, dorobiłem wewnątrz szat okutane bandażami ciałko i - tak jak u pozostałych - wyrżnąłem zbędny szpej. Efekt prezentuje się następująco. Jako że ludzik ma w mojej ocenie nieco kapłański vibe, a hełm ma w sobie coś mandalorianowatego, zakładam, że model nada się na FKB. Czerwcowy, zaproponowany przez Maniexa temat brzmi bowiem: „Tak każe obyczaj”. 

Kamandora's Blades

Kamandora's Blades dwell in the wastes left by Khorne's armies. Guided by their matriarch - Kamandora, Mother of Hate - the feral clanmates: Ghalista, Antro Krast and the hound Kannat weaken and bleed their foes before Throkk hacks their heads free. It is the clan's goal to add these to the charnel pyramid that marks where the legendary Korghos Khul attained daemonhood.

Kamandora's Blades - Kannat

Here's the next model from Warhammer Underworlds Khorne warband called Kamandora's Blades - a demon dog called Kannat.

Bandy Khorne'a ciąg dalszy. Dziś demoniczny pieseł po drobnych modyfikacjach. Jako że demony to istoty nadprzyrodzone, jak znalazł wpisze się w bieżący temat Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego - „Supernatural”.

Kamandora's Blades - Antro Krast

I’m continuing the works on Kamandora's Blades, the latest Warhammer Underworlds Khorne warband. Just like in case of Ghalista, I removed the unnecessary skulls, chopped off the hair, and got rid of the overly flashy ornaments. I painted the face in a skull-like motif, and the clothing in red, black, and bronze/brass tones.

Idę dalej z najnowszym underworldsowym Khorne'em. Tak jak ostatnio, wywaliłem zbędne czaszki, utrąciłem fryzurę i nachalne ozdóbki. Twarz pomalowałem w czachowaty motyw, a ubranka - czerwienią i brązomosiądzem.

Kamandora's Blades - Ghalista

The latest Underworlds releases have been rather disappointing when it comes to the miniatures themselves. Before I started painting, I had to figure out how to convert the little guys to make them look better. For the newest Khorne warband, Kamandora's Blades, I decided to chop off the most of hair and skull-shaped hair ornaments, as well as remove the unnecessary skulls. Instead, I preferred to paint the faces with a skull-like motif. Other than that, I stuck to the classic Khorne red and bronze-brass palette. I painted Ghalista first.

Ostatnie wypusty do Underworldsów były pod względem figurkowym raczej rozczarowujące. Przed zabraniem się za malowanie trzeba było więc wymyślić, jak przerobić ludziki, żeby nie były aż takie złe. W najnowszej bandzie Khorne'a postanowiłem utrącić fryzury i nachalne ozdóbki, a do tego wywalić zbędne czaszki. W to miejsce wolałem raczej pomalować twarze w czachowaty motyw. Poza tym trzymałem się khorne'owej czerwieni i brązomosiądzu. Na pierwszy ogień poszła Ghalista.

Zondara's Gravebreakers

Zondara was once a wizard gifted in the Magic of Ghur, but then she lost the love of her life - Feralin - to a terrible curse that left him a snarling beast. She will stop at nothing in her efforts to save him. A stolen tome unlocked the secrets of necromancy to her, and led her to believe that amongst the frozen graves and lost dead of Deathgorge she would find a way to restore her beloved.

Pikk / Toyle / Ferlain / Zondara / Cracktomb

Z okazji kwietniowego Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego realizowanego za sprawą Kapitana Haka pod hasłem „Otchłań” prezentuję underworldsową ekipę Zondara's Gravebreakers wraz z ich historyjką - o klątwie, utraconej miłości, pogrążeniu się w otchłani rozpaczy i szaleństwa, a wreszcie - fizycznym zejściu w mroźną otchłań w poszukiwaniu lekarstwa. Fabułka jak z pierwszej lepszej bajki, ale to przeklęte love story znajduje odzwierciedlenie w mechanikach bandy i jakoś mi się przez to podoba :)

Zondara's Gravebreakers - Zondara

I finished Zondara. I’m less happy with her hair than with Ferlain's - the original sculpt had too much plastic underneath, so it looks a bit wig-like, but I’m leaving it as it is.

Dorobiłem Zondarkę. Z włosów jestem mniej zadowolony niż u Ferlaina, bo miała w oryginale za dużo plastiku i wygląda trochę peruczkowato, ale zostanie już jak jest.
