Cursed City Vargskyr

I got back to the Warhammer Quest: Cursed City project and painted a Vargskyr - the games variation of Soulblight Gravelords' Vargheist. There are only two Agents of Defiance, two zombie ogres, a few rat swarms and some markers left to paint for the set to be complete :) Enjoy!

W poprzednim tygodniu realizowałem temat listopadowego Karnawału Blogowego: „Numero Uno”, malując Skabbika, dowódcę bandy Skabbik's Plaguepack. Tym razem wziąłem się za największy model z pudełka Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. Oto nietoperzowilkowampir zwany w Ulfenkarn Vargskyrem.

Mordheim Undead Heroes

A mix of minis to form a core of Mordheim Undead warband:

• Vampire - AoS Isabella von Carstein
• Necromancer - Warhammer Fantasy Battles Heinrich Kemmler
• Warlock - converted Cursed City Torgilius the Chamberlain
• Dire Wolves - Reaper Miniatures Dread Wolves
• Dregs - converted Warhammer Underworlds Exiled Dead zombies

Jak już zmalowałem najemnego czarnoksiężnika na bazie modelu z Cursed City, dorzuciłem go do AoS-owej Isabelli von Carstein, midhammerowego Heinricha Kemmlera, reaperowych Dread Wolfów i Dregów skonwertowanych z underworldsowych zombie. Dorzuciłbym ghoule i by była banda, a tak - jest całkiem nieźle na moje oko poprzeplatany post na kwietniowy karnawał :)

Cursed City Captain Halgrim

The second after Dagnai Holdenstock Warhammer Quest mini this month: City Watch Captain Halgrim. A fellow blogger suggested that the cape should be more weathered and I followed - hence two pictures of the back (before and after).

Trzeci z czterech pancernych zaplanowanych na ten miesiąc w ramach tematu FKB od QC: Halgrim, kapitan straży miejskiej Ulfenkarn. Za radą Wołka Zbożowego z NerdWorkshop peleryna dostała więcej brudu - stąd dwa zdjęcia pleców :)

Mordheim Undead Dire Wolves

I was looking for an alternative to GW Dire Wolves, as they seemed a bit too big in comparison to vampires and necromancers I was to use in my new Mordheim Undead warband. Luckily, I found @wraithwisp and his Dread Wolves by Reaper on Instagram. I bought and painted the minis (I am just not sure on what bases I should put them on) and I am quite happy how they fit the other models.

Szukałem alternatywy dla Dire Wolfów od GW. Tamte (zarówno poprzedni, jak i bieżący zestaw wzorów) wydawały mi się zbyt masywne. Na insta @wraithwisp wypatrzyłem wilczki z Reapera. Wyglądały sensownie, nabyłem je więc i pomalowałem (nie mam tylko na razie pomysłu, na jakich podstawkach je umieścić).

Vampire / Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come

Happy Holidays! To get in the mood I've painted a halberd-wielding Vampire kitbash for Mordheim with traditional colors: SnowWhite Pale, Rednose Red, Solistice Gold and Winternight Black :D All the best, guys!

Wydało mi się możliwe połączenie wpisu na setny karnawał - „The next big thing” - z „okołoświątecznym” modelem. Oto chciałbym znaleźć w nadchodzącym roku  więcej czasu na kitbashowanie (bo kitbashem zaprezentowany model jest). Choć konwertowanie i żonglowanie częściami jest dość czasochłonne, sprawia mi zarazem dużo przyjemności. A że nazbierałem ostatnio sporo elementów pasujących do Łowców Czarownic, Sióstr Sigmara i Opętanych - mam nadzieję zwiększyć przy okazji odsetek ludków do Mordheim względem tych do Warhammer Underworlds. Jak będzie - czas pokaże.

The Exiled Dead

Deep in the darkness of Underworlds the vampire Deintalos found an ideal place to hide his grisly experiments. Aided by Marcov, his mortal apprentice in necromancy, and a pair of Dregs - Ione and Vlash, Deintalos animates recovered cadavers. With their unwitting assistance, the vampire means to uncover every secret of undeath. The Exiled Dead dwells in the darkness, a lurking menace who snares all foolish enough to wander their habitat.

The Exiled Dead Dregs

Dregs are the most miserable human survivors of the demise of Mordheim. They are deformed and rejected individuals, shunned even by the other men and women who still live in the ruins and catacombs of the city. Vampires often recruit Dregs as their servants and treat them with surprising kindness. As a result, Dregs are often fanatically loyal to their Undead overlords and will do anything to protect and serve them.

The Exiled Dead Marcov / Mordheim Dreg

The third after Vlash and Ione Exiled Dead model in which I've seen a dreg potential was Marcov. Seeing it wasn't too hard, as he plays a role of classic Igor (necromancer's sidekick) in the warband. I slightly converted the head and the face and here it is:

Trzecim po Vlashu i Ione modelem Exiled Dead, w którym dostrzegłem potencjał na drega, był Marcov. Nie było to trudne o tyle, że pełni on w bandzie rolę klasycznego Igora - pomocnika nekromanty w frankesteinowym stylu. Trochę uczłowieczyłem okolicę głowy i jest:

The Exiled Dead Ione / Mordheim Dreg

On with the dreg show! Ione is the second zombie from Warhammer Underworlds The Exiled Dead warband slightly converted to become a Mordheim Undead dreg instead.

The Exiled Dead Vlash / Mordheim Dreg

After a closer look, it turned out that underworlds warband "The Exiled Dead" is a decent source of Dregs for the modern version of the Mordheim Undead. You just got to cut off the electric apparatuses of the chosen zombies and patch the holes. The first result of the experiment described above is Vlash. He reminds me (mainly because of the haircut and the face expression) one of the Mordheim classic Dregs.

Po głębszym wejrzeniu okazało się, że underworldsowa banda „The Exiled Dead” jest przyzwoitym źródłem Dregów do współczesnej wersji mordheimowych nieumarłych - wystarczy uciąć wybranym zombie elektryczne aparaty i połatać dziury. Pierwszym efektem opisanego wyżej eksperymentu jest Vlash - przypominający mi za sprawą fryzury i nierozgarniętego wyrazu twarzy jeden z klasycznych modeli dregów do Mordheim.

Cursed City Gorslav the Gravekeeper

Slowly but steady, I am painting miniatures for Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. By now, I got most of mobs done (zombies, ulfenwatch, bats). There are some heroes, bosses, rats and markers left to paint. I took one mini off the pile of shame and painted Gorslav the Gravekeeper.

Zgodnie z figurkowo-karnawałowo-blogowym zarządzeniem Bahiora z the Dark Oak, w sierpniu trzeba było zmalować dowód na tezę, że "Rozmiar ma znaczenie". Wykorzystałem okazję, by o jedną figurkę pchnąć projekt Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. Przed Państwem jeden z bossów - typ z wielkim szpadlem, Gorslav the Gravekeeper.

Cursed City Bat Swarms #3-4

On with painting the Cursed City! Two new bat swarms have been converted, painted and added to a pile of finished miniatures. I am still figuring out how to make giant bats look good (I don't really like the original models). Probably I'm gonna convert one and use a spare Grymwatch Harrier for the second one. We will see!

Już-już miałem pomalować na ogłoszony przez Borgnine'a heavy metalowy karnawał blogowy elfa z tapirem, ale wyczytałem w internetach, że w tym roku minęła 40. rocznica odgryzienia przez Ozzy'ego głowy nietoperza. Pomyślałem, że to jest heavy metal pełną gębą i wykorzystałem okazję, żeby pchnąć do przodu temat Cursed City - tym razem o kolejne dwa nietoperki. Trochę je skonwertowałem i pomalowałem inaczej niż pierwszą parkę (można porównać pod Cursed City Bat Swarms #1-2). Dodatkowo, żeby przydać nieco metalowości, załączam fotkę z bladym, długowłosym młodzieńcem z metalem w garderobie.

Cursed City Radukar the Wolf

On with the Warhammer Quest: Cursed City villains to one of the main "bad guys": Radukar the Wolf.

Kontynuując wątek "Dobrego, złego i brzydkiego" - "ten zły" z Warhammer Quest Cursed City: Radukar the Wolf.

Cursed City Vyrkos Blood-Born

In return for an oath of loyalty, these members of the noble houses were spared and offered the Blood Kiss and a place as a part of the Thirsting Court. Transformed into half-feral creatures, these princelings and duchesses now serve the Vampire’s will. They hunt down and assassinate any who question his dominance and stalk the death-shrouded streets of the Cursed City in search of prey to torment and consume.
