Witch Hunters - Flagellant Hero Kitbash

After converting the Underworlds' Brethren of the Bolt Pater Filius, I was left with the lower half of the model. I swapped out his head and added arms holding a flail - all from the new Marauders. I filled in his back with Milliput and added some details: bandages (tissue hardened with super glue in some places, thin strips of metal from a metal tube in the others), sheets of paper and a scroll (paper hardened with super glue, rivets made of PVA glue), a book (pages made of tissues, cover and binding made of cardboard, a comet made of Milliput, rivets made of PVA glue, and string made of thread), a fish (Milliput from a Blue Stuff mold of a Gellerpox Infected bit used in my Fish Zealot). I attached some bones from plastic Flagellants, and there you have it. Here’s how it looks:

Podmieniłem mu głowę i dodałem ręce z flailem - wszystko z nowych Marauduerów.  Zamilliputowałem plecy i dodałem rzeczy: bandaże (miejscami chusteczka utwardzona super glue, miejscami cienka blaszka z metalowej tubki po czymś tam), karteczki i scroll (papier utwardzony super glue, nity z wikolu), książkę (kartki z chusteczek, okładka i obicia z tekturki, kometa z GS-u, nity z wikolu, sznurek z nitki), rybę (GS z blue stuffowej formy odbitej z Gellerpox Infected). Dowiesiłem kosteczki z plastikowych Flagellantów i jest. Rzecz przedstawia się następująco:

Differentiating the Sisters

Now that I have a miniature of each type for my Sisters of Sigmar, I'd like to write about the idea how to differentiate one unit type from another. The goal was to make it easy to tell who is who - even though each miniature is an individual. In general, the higher someone stands in the order’s hierarchy, the sturdier their boots, the better their armor, and the more gear they carry. So:

• A Novice goes around quite exposed, wearing sandals,
• Regular Sisters have low shoes, short trousers, and sleeveless tops,
• Sister Superiors and the Augur wear proper boots and leather armor,
• The Matriarch gets heavy boots, lots of layers of clothing, a backpack, and a big hammer decorated with icons of Sigmar.

Z okazji lutowego Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego, którego tematem jest „Idzie luty, podkuj buty”, postanowiłem napisać o garderobie i obuwiu Sióstr Sigmara i mojej koncepcji na odróżnienie od siebie modeli poszczególnych typów jednostek. Zamysł był taki, żeby łatwo było poznać, kto jest kim - mimo, że każda figurka jest indywidualnością. Założyłem sobie, że im ktoś istotniejszy w zakonnej hierarchii, tym solidniejsze ma buty, lepszy pancerz i więcej szpeju. I tak:

• Nowicjuszka paraduje cała poodkrywana w sandałkach;
• Regularne siostry mają niskie buciki, krótkie portki i żonobijki;
• Siostry przełożone i wieszczka - porządne kozaki i skórzany pancerz;
• Przeorysza - ciężkie buciory, dużo warstw, plecak i młocisko z ikonami Sigmara.

Realizacja zamysłu będzie kontynuowana w kolejnych model. Na zdjęciach - u góry i poniżej - przegląd obuwia u dotychczas ukończonych figurek.

Sisters of Sigmar - Novice

I kitbashed a Novice for my Sisters of Sigmar Mordheim warband :) The base model is WarCry Cypher Lords Mindbound. The head came form WH40K Adepta Sororitas Repentia Squad, the hand with the dagger is a part of a modified bit from WH40K Sister Novitiate Squad and the hand with the hammer came from one of the zombies from WHU Zondara's Gravebreakers.

Skitbashowałem nowicjuszkę do Sióstr Sigmara. Trzeba mi było na nią czterech pudełek z trzech systemów i kuleczki Milliputu ;) Większa część modelu pochodzi z warcry'owego zestawu Cypher Lords. Podmieniłem dłonie: lewą - na wziętą od zombiaka z Zondary do WHU, prawą - na uciętą z ręki czterdziestkowych Sisters Novitiate. Także główka pochodzi z pudełka frakcji Adepta Sororitas, ale tym razem Repentia Squad. Wyszło toto następująco.

Here’s the second Sigmarite Sister for my Sisters of Sigmar warband. The legs, torso, and arms come from the Repentia Squad, the head is from the Sisters Novitiate Squad box (both Warhammer 40,000 Adepta Sororitas kits). The hammer comes from the Age of Sigmar Pox-Wretches and a hand with the dagger from the ToW Wild Riders.

Druga szeregowa siostrzyczka do mojej bandy Sióstr Sigmara. Nogi, tors i ramiona wziąłem z zestawu Repentia Squad, a głowę z Sisters Novitiate Squad (oba pudełka z czterdziestkowych Adepta Sororitas). Młot podkradłem z AoS-owych Pox-Wretches, a dłoń ze sztyletem - z oldworldowych Wild Riderów.

When writing about Augur, I mentioned that I’d soon have to get to work on the Sisters of Sigmar henchwomen. I struck while the iron was hot, figured out how the regular Sisters in my warband would differ from the Superiors, and boom - here’s the first one.

The legs, torso, and arms come from the Repentia Squad, the head is from the Sisters Novitiate Squad box (both Warhammer 40,000 Adepta Sororitas kits). The hammer comes from the Age of Sigmar Deadwalker Zombies.

Pisałem przy okazji Augurki, że trzeba się będzie zaraz wziąć za popleczniczki. Poszedłem za ciosem, wymyśliłem, czym regularne Siostrzyczki będą się w mojej bandzie różnić się od Przełożonych i cyk - jest pierwsza. Nogi, tułów i ręce ma z pudełka Repentia Squad, a głowę z zestawu Sister Novitiates (oba z czterdziestkowych Adepta Sororitas). Młotek dostała z AoS-owych Deadwalker Zombies.

Sisters of Sigmar - Augur

I put together a new Augur. It’s a fairly simple conversion made using a WH40K Adepta Sororitas Imagifier body, a comet from the ToW Empire Greatswords kit, plus a collar and some gap-fillers made from Green Stuff or Milliput. When painting it, I loosely followed Grimdark Sisters of Sigmar Step-by-Step Painting Tutorial.

As a result, I now have a finished and satisfying set of heroines for the Sisters of Sigmar. I already have an idea and the bits, so at some point I’ll probably make another Sister Superior with a hammer and whip - and then it’ll be time to tackle the henchwomen. 

Poskładałem nową Augurkę. To raczej prosta konwersja z ciałkiem WH40K Adepta Sororitas Imagifier, kometą z ToW Empire Greatswords oraz kołnierzem i zapchajdziurami z GS-u. Malowałem mniej więcej zgodnie z moim tutorialem (link w angielskiej wersji językowej powyżej).

Mam w efekcie skończony satysfakcjonujący zestaw bohaterek do Sióstr Sigmara. Jest już pomysł i bitsy, więc zrobię pewnie jeszcze kiedyś kolejną Siostrę Przełożoną z młotkiem i biczem, a potem trzeba będzie skonfrontować się z popleczniczkami. 

Sisters Superior (#3, #1, #2), Sigmarite Matriarch, Augur

Sisters of Sigmar - Sister Superior #4

After our last game of Mordheim, I became even more convinced that the steel whip is an amazing weapon. We played with the updated Sisters of Sigmar rules, where the troublesome and overpowered “Reach” was replaced by “Whiprack.” Since up until now I’d mostly focused on hammers for my Sisters Superior models, it was about time to put together some variants with whips. And voilà — here it is. In the process, I also nailed down a consistent painting workflow for the Sisters, so once I’ve sorted out the pictures and descriptions, a tutorial will be coming up.

I used the following parts for this model :

• legs, torso, and arms from the 40K (and previously Kill Team) Adepta Sororitas Novitiates box — with the grenade in the left hand replaced by a hammer made from green stuff, a bit of wire, and a weapon head from the WH:tOW Knights of the White Wolf; I also removed the arm pads and sculpted the cowl out of green stuff;

• a head from the 40k Adepta Sororitas Repentia Squad box;

• Sigmarite symbols from the Flagellants and Wildercorps Hunters kits copied with blue-stuff / milliput combo.

Po ostatniej grze w Mordheim utwierdziłem się w przekonaniu, że bicz to wspaniała broń. Graliśmy na zaktualizowane zasady, w których kłopotliwą i przegiętą właściwość „Reach” zastąpił „Whiprack”. Jako że dotąd w modelach Sióstr Przełożonych skupiałem się raczej na młotkach, powstała potrzeba poskładania wariantów z bacikami. No i cyk - jest. Przy okazji skodyfikowałem też proces malowania siostrzyczek, więc jak tylko obrobię zdjęcia i opisy, będzie tutek.

W modelu wykorzystałem:

• nogi, tors i ręce z czterdziestkowego (a wcześniej kill teamowego) pudełka Adepta Sororitas Novitiates - przy czym granat z lewej dłoni zastąpiłem młotkiem z green stuffu, drucika i główki borni ze staroświeckich Knights of the White Wolf, obciąłem naramienniki, a kołnierz wyrzeźbiłem z green stuffu;
• głowę z czterdziestkowego pudełka Adepta Sororitas Repentia Squad;
• odbitki sigmaryckich symboli z pudełka flagellantów i Wildercorps Hunters.

Sisters of Sigmar - Sigmarite Matriarch

I assembled a Sisters of Sigmar Sigmarite Matriarch for Mordheim using the following parts:

• WH40K Repentia Squad - Repentia Superior: body, legs, hands, whip and tome
• Kill Team Novitiates - Novitiate Superior: head
• Warcry Wildercorps Hunters: backpack, dogs' collars ornaments

The sigmarite hammer is scratch built from a Stormcast Eternals weapon handle ornament, thick plasticard, and a paper clip. All the lilies and chalices were removed and replaced with double-tailed comets. I painted her to match my previous Sisters of Sigmar. The method is quite similar to Grimdark Witch Hunters Painting Tutorial, but there are some differences and I think I am gonna make a separate tutorial someday.

Poskładałem szefową do mordkowej drużyny Sióstr Sigmara:

• Jako podstawy użyłem Repentia Superior z pudełka czterdziestkowego Repentia Squad.
• Główkę podmieniłem na łebek Novitiate Superior z kill teamowego pudła Novitiates
• Plecaczek zabrałem z ramki Warcry'owych Wildercorps Hunters
• Młotek poskładałem z końcówki uchwytu broni sigmarinesów, plasticardu, ozdóbki z obroży wildercorpsowego psa i spinacza biurowego z owijką.
• Wyrżnąłem wszystkie kielichy i lilijki i zastąpiłem je greenstuffowymi kometkami.

Pomalowałem ją na wzór ukończonych dotychczas siostrzyczek. Korzystam z kolorów i metod podobnych jak u Witch Hunterów, ale są różnice i chyba trzeba będzie kiedyś zrobić osobny tutorial.

Ordo Sepulturum Outcast Kitbash

I didn't really like the World Eaters Goremonger, which is the Miniature of the Month for July, so I decided to use its legs and equipment to make a conversion. I added a Deadwalker Zombie torso and a Delaque gang head, and painted it in Rokksville's Ordo Sepulturum color scheme. It'll probably be my entry for the Grimdark Challenge: Forsaken Travellers.

Pierwotnie miałem na NPC-owy Figurkowy Karnawał Blogowy inny plan, ale kiedy pojawiła się niezbyt podobająca mi się jako całość warhammerowa figurka miesiąca, się zmieniło. Z nóżek i sprzętu world-eatersowego Goremongera, korpusiku Deadwalker Zombie i główki członka gangu Delaque skonwertowałem snuja z mrocznej przyszłości 41. millenium. Ludzik będzie najpewniej moim zgłoszeniem do nowej edycji Grimdark Challenge.

Witch Hunters - Crossbow Witch Hunter

The Mordheim anniversary painting contest keeps me working on the Witch Hunters warband. I've already finished Zealots kitbashes and posted some pictures of the first Flagellant. I've made Witch Hunters inpired by the original Mordheim minis some time ago (#1, #2 and #3), so I had to come up with something new for the competition. I went with the excerpt from the Mordheim Rulebook "Witch Hunters are well-armed and sturdy individuals. They favour hooded cloaks and headgear which conceal their appearance from the overly curious". Here's my first hooded Witch Hunter with a crossbow. 

Ze względu na rocznicowy konkurs na facebookowej grupie Mordheim na dobre wsiąkłem w Witch Hunterów (to właśnie ich  zamierzam wystawić w kategorii „banda”). Modele inspirowane oryginalnymi figurkami zrobiłem przy innej okazji, a że tutaj trzeba było sklecić coś nowego, tym razem jako punkt wyjścia potraktowałem opis z podręcznika gracza, traktujący o tym, jak to z łowców czarownic zamaskowani fachowcy. No i proszę bardzo: zamaskowany fachowiec numer jeden. Żeby jeszcze raz załapać się na bahiorowe FKB, zrobiłem mu sprzączkę w czaszkę ;)

Witch Hunters - Zealots Kitbash

When a man loses his family, home and all he cared for, religion is often the last refuge left to him. Such men become wandering pilgrims, bitter and dangerous fanatics who are prepared to avenge their loss at any cost. These men are called Zealots.

Zealots have forsaken their former lives and exist only to destroy evil and the minions of Chaos. Whilst they might have been peasants and craftsmen before, and thus may not be as dangerous in a fight as seasoned mercenaries, their determination and fanaticism should not be underestimated. Here's the last of my #OldschoolNouveau Zealots for Mordheim Witch Hunters warband. It's a tribute to the model known as "Witch Hunter Zealot 1". I based it on Acolyte Arcus from Warhammer Underworlds Brethren of the Bolt warband available as a part of Wintermaw set. The list of the parts used is as follows:

• Warhammer Underworlds: Brethren of the Bolt - legs, torso, arms (left one is repositioned and both hands are swapped tough). I cut away all chains and contraptions.
• Warhammer Underworlds: Brethren of the Bolt - leftover Scorched Yakob's left hand
• Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Cities of Sigmar - Freeguild Steelhelms - head
• Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Nighthaunt - Chainrasp Hordes
• Kill Team: Gellerpox Infected - fish
• Scratch-built book made of cardboard, paper, green stuff and a piece of a thin rope.

Trzeci i ostatni fanatyk z drużyny łowców czarownic odwołujący się do oryginalnych mordheimowych wzorów. Here's the next of my #OldschoolNouveau minis for Mordheim Witch Hunters. It's a tribute to the model known as "Witch Hunter Zealot 3". It's based on Soror Tazat from Warhammer Underworlds Brethren of the Bolt warband available as a part of Wintermaw set. The list of the parts used is as follows:

• Warhammer Underworlds: Brethren of the Bolt - legs, torso, arms and left hand. I cut away all the stuff I didn't want (mainly chains and contraptions) and scratch-built the shield, using some coffee stir sticks and two thin stripes of paper for the handle.
• Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Cities of Sigmar - Freeguild Steelhelms - head
• Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulblight Gravelords - Deadwalker Zombies - right hand and sword
• Other materials: paper and green stuff

Ot, następna figurka z cyklu „budujemy stare figurki z nowych kawałków” (#OldschoolNouveau) - fanatyk z tarczą do drużyny łowców czarownic. Bazą do konwersji była Soror Tazat z underworldsowej ekipy Brethren of the Bolt będacej częścią zestawu Wintermaw. Uciąłem jej niepotrzebne kawałki i dorobiłem tarczę, podmieniłem głowę i prawą dłoń. W miejsce scrolla na piersi wstawiłem papiery. Użyłem:

• miecza z zestawu Deadwalkers Zombies do AoSa,
• innych materiałów: greenstuffu, kilku kawałków drewnianego mieszadełka, papieru.

Leshen - Moss Monster - Bad Juju Kitbash

My entry in „Grimdark Challange: Forest Freaks” and the second Leshen in my collection. The first one was all about elk and bark, this one is about moose and moss. The one here is a kitbash made using:

• Bad Juju from 2nd edition of Malifaux (The Swamp Hag box),
• horse skull from Age of Sigmar Flesh Eater Courts Endless Spells,
• 3D print of moose antlers.

Mój wpis w ramach październikowego, kapitańskiego FKB „Legenda” (legendarny potwór z legendarnej gry o legendarnym łowcy potworów), a zarazem moje zgłoszenie do „Grimdark Challange: Forest Freaks” oraz drugi leszy w mojej kolekcji. Poprzedni był o korze i jeleniach, ten jest o mchu i łosiach. Ten tutaj stanowi mieszankę:

Here's the next of my #OldschoolNouveau minis for Mordheim Witch Hunters. It's a tribute to the model known as "Witch Hunter Zealot 2". I based it on Scorched Yakob from Warhammer Underworlds Brethren of the Bolt warband available as a part of Wintermaw set. The list of the parts used is as follows:

• Warhammer Underworlds: Brethren of the Bolt - legs, torso, head, hands (left one is repositioned and cut though). I cut away all the stuff I didn't want (chains, head and hands contraptions) and scratch-built the puppet, using the little skull from the top of the head contraption (adding green stuff for body and hands, a little piece of wood and a bit from a thin plasticard sheet for the puppet's axe).
• Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Chainrasp Hordes - axe
• Warhammer Fantasy Battles: Empire Flagellants - noose
• Other materials: green stuff, a piece of wood, a thin rope

To mój następny ludzik w ramach cyklu „budujemy stare figurki z nowych kawałków” (#OldschoolNouveau) - fanatyk z kukiełką do drużyny łowców czarownic. Bazą do konwersji był Scorched Yakob z underworldsowej ekipy Brethren of the Bolt stanowiącej część zestawu Wintermaw.
