Leshen - Moss Monster - Bad Juju Kitbash

My entry in „Grimdark Challange: Forest Freaks” and the second Leshen in my collection. The first one was all about elk and bark, this one is about moose and moss. The one here is a kitbash made using:

• Bad Juju from 2nd edition of Malifaux (The Swamp Hag box),
• horse skull from Age of Sigmar Flesh Eater Courts Endless Spells,
• 3D print of moose antlers.

Mój wpis w ramach październikowego, kapitańskiego FKB „Legenda” (legendarny potwór z legendarnej gry o legendarnym łowcy potworów), a zarazem moje zgłoszenie do „Grimdark Challange: Forest Freaks” oraz drugi leszy w mojej kolekcji. Poprzedni był o korze i jeleniach, ten jest o mchu i łosiach. Ten tutaj stanowi mieszankę:

• Bad Juju z 2. edycji Malifaux (pudełko z Zoraidą, wiedźmą z bagien),
• poszerzonej milliputem czaszki konia z GW (z ghoulowych endless spells, by być dokładnym)
• i wydruku łosiowego poroża (link powyżej, w wersji angielskiej).

Malifaux Zoraida, the Swamp Hag

I got back to painting the Swampfiend team for Malifaux :) Below you can see its boss, Zoraida the Swamp Hag (slightly converted). Before taking the group photo, I will have to sculpt an alternative, less cartoony-looking voodoo doll, but I think it will be smooth sailing from here on.

Wróciłem do malowania ekipy Swampfiendów do Malifaux :) Poniżej lekko skonwertowana szefowa, wiedźma z bagien Zoraida. Zanim zdjęcie całej podstawowej drużyny, trzeba mi będzie jeszcze wyrzeźbić alternatywną, mniej komiksową laleczkę voodoo, ale teraz to już chyba z górki.

Malifaux Waldgeist / Dryad #3

The third Waldgeist (check out the close-ups of previous Waldgeists) took me the most time, because it needed the most extensive converting. After few weeks of its lying around I've cut out all the stuff I didn't like (vines, a weird comb-like thing on the back) and added some stuff to make it look better (branches on the head, fungi, a skull, a beard from roots/vines). Here's my finished 3rd Waldgeist: solo and with its two friends.

Jak to ja, temat bieżącego karnawału wymyślałem z myślą o konkretnej figurce. Potrzeba mi było dodatkowej motywacji, żeby złożyć trzeciego, wymagającego najdalej idących interwencji Waldgeista do Malifaux. Powycinałem dziwny grzebień z pleców i lichutkie pnącza zewsząd, przerobiłem na wzór kolegów twarz i wyrastające z głowy gałęzie i dodałem zmroczniającą całość czaszkę. A że w efekcie powstało kolejne drzewo, hasło "To się wytnie" wydawało się adekwatne.

Malifaux Waldgeists / Dryads

Painting the Mysterious Emissary (as Leshen) encouraged me to get to painting next Malifaux minis. This time I went for Waldgeists (a nice alternative to GW Dryads in my opinion). I'd like to have a Malifaux Swampfiend warband at some point, but I'm painting the minis to match my Kurnothi battleforce as well.

Malowanie Mysterious Emissary w roli Leszego zachęciło do ruszenia kolejnych modeli z Malifaux. Tym razem wziąłem się za Waldgeisty (z powodzeniem mogące stanowić według mnie urozmaicenie ekipy Driad z GW). Docelowo chcę złożyć ekipę biesów z bagien (keyword Swampfiend), ale figurki będę odkładał na półeczkę razem wyznawcami Kurnousa.

Leshen - Bark Monster - Mysterious Emissary

As blare of horns of the Wild Hunt resounds through the woods, forest spirits are overcome by urge to bring the vengeance upon those who threaten the balance of nature. Leshen, the protector of woodland and the wrath of forest incarnate, eagerly answers the call.

I've been in awe of Garden of Hecate Swampfiend crew since I saw them. When I came upon Malifaux Mysterious Emissary in one of the stores, I took the chance to make my own Leshen (heavily inspired by Ana's work). Having noticed similarities between the creature's background and the story behind Kurnothi, I painted it to match my Wild Hunt.

Wołek Zbożowy z NerdWorkshop zaproponował, by majowym tematem Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego była "Półeczka". Skonwertowałem i zmalowałem figurkę do Malifaux (systemu, w który zbyt często nie grywam) i AoS-owej armii, której nie ma (Sylvaneth/Kurnothi). Mysterious Emissary / Leszy / Treeman spędzi więc życie przede wszystkim na półeczce. Inna rzecz, że jako drewniany konstrukt mógłby posłużyć za meblarski surowiec ;)
